Forgive my ignorance, but I really haven't a clue when it comes to car kits for mobile phones :o

I have just bought a W203 C200 CDI (04) and it came with a Nokia phone kit installed. Will any Nokia fit it? If not, what models should I be trying to blag out of Vodafone? What will I be able to do assuming I get one? Will the two 'Phone' buttons on the steering wheel do anything if I get one? What is the little thingy down by the gear lever? I presume the other little thingy by the mirror is a microphone?

As you can tell from my questions, I really am in the dark about all of this, so any information you can give me will add to my knowledge.

This is not an MB phone kit so unfortunately the steering wheel buttons will not do anything (except say 'Not Available' in the dashboard that is!) which is a shame because I would love to get them to interact with my Bluetooth kit.

Unless someone knows different...

The CK-7W works with most Nokia 'pop-port' phones - If it doesn't fit yours then you usually only need to change the plastic bit - around £15-20 from most 'phone accessories dealers.

These guys http://www.fitbluetooth.co.uk do steering wheel integration kits for the parrot bluetooth kits - I don't think the CK-7W has the connections however.

Thanks for the replies. I fired up my SE K750i and sent it on a Bluetooth hunt. It found the car kit and amazingly paired with it. Just for a laugh I pressed the button on the dongly bit next to the gear lever and lo and behold, my phone was asking me to say the name of a voice activated contact. "Phone home" said I, and it did :bannana: :bannana:

So it seems I don't need the cradle. Now I need to dismantle the centre console and perform a cradlectomy, but as Haynes don't do a W203 manual I'm off to the Interior forum to ask another question.

Thanks once again for the help.

here you have a link with some "how to":

http://www.buellwinkle.com/howtos.html

there is a link to another forum with information about radio installation, since you have to dismount the whole central trim you can utilize that info (it seems you need a registration). FYI you have to start dismounting the centre panel removing the upper vents.

... oh yes there are also a link to "how to install a nokia kit into a W203", but not the reverse:bannana:
