Very clean low mileage. 190LE.

That must have been relisted, as it was on eBay a week of two back.

I think it went for around £1000 before. The current seller bought it a few months ago on eBay too - you can see it in his feedback :)

looks great, i even like the colour! the wheels look great on it, there not original are they?

The alloys were standard on LE

My old mum had one that era, with those wheels.
My mum had one just like that too in Nautic Blue..last of the real Mercs. The paint finish was so good ,the interior quality was great and the level of refinement was in a league that the BMW 3 series of the time could not get near at all.

82k over 18 years and 8 previous owners...
Obviously the mileage without history is completely unsupported.
If the the condition is right and the car is inspected then someone may end up with a bargain.

Someone added a question (seemingly to help the seller) mentioning that the high number of owners could be attributed to the privates plates going off/on the car a couple of times - could that really be the case? If so, I learned something new today! If not, then I saved myself from future blaggers today!

Nope - VRM changes make no difference to the number of registered keepers.

Don't think they are. my merc original 8 holes have a glass finish to them, and i am not sure where he gets the idea that they are AMG. Thought they were sportline kit.

Hi,
8 hole alloys were standard on the LE and the colours i think were Rosso Red,Brilliant Silver or Azurite Blue (which took over from Nautic blue.)
They were also the only 190's to have walnut wood fitted at the factory.

Armrest, elec windows, sunroof, rear headrest and auto were standard on the 2.0 (can't remember what the 1.8 had less - might have been the rear heads and rear windows).

190's are a great old car and what a bargain many are now.

Almost - it was 'Azzuro Blue', which is not available on any of the standard 190E models.

2.0 LEs got in additional spec over the 1.8 LE:
- Rear headrests
- Front Armrest
- Door cards with fabric inserts to match seats

Everything else was standard (8-hole wheels, electric front/rear windows, electric sunroof, airbag, walnut trim etc)

The late 1992/3 190Es really are great cars, nice to drive, tough and reliable and cheap to maintain.

There are however a few things that I would note - at the typical age/mileage of these cars I would check for head gasket issues, worn ball joints, broken springs and keep an eye out for any corrosion issues.

Thankfully on the later cars you're less likely to suffer the older age issues, but head gasket failure on the 8v M102s seems quite common these days.

I'd go along with that. Most of the ones I've seen in the last three years have been incredibly free of rust for their age but paint chips & scrapes will rust merrily if untreated

Every car I've seen, though, needed top mounts for the shock absorbers. Not expensive but something to budget for

IMHO The questions seem to have been drafted by the seller. At any rate, they are all worded in a similar manner and appear to be intended to make the car more desirable.

As for the reasons for selling so quickly, I would assume he's just discovered some, expensive to fix, fault.

Call me cynical

Hi Cynical - but I prefer to call you Rob.

Price has not moved much since I posted it, even with a test drive. I tend to agree there is something iffy/wiffy about the car. Perhaps all the potential buyers think the same.

190Es like that don't tend to hide many faults. Just check the main bits over as you would on any used car.

Look at it if you're interested. What you see is what you get pretty much on these cars.

Even if you allowed a few hundred as a contingency fund you should be ok. And at least they don't depreciate :)

Hmm, not sure about that. When I bought mine, it looked great to me but it still needed a full exhaust system and a head gasket. I can't remember what it cost me to fix but it wasn't far off the purchase price of the car.
