VERY low mileage 320CE

Funny badging . Sportline badges added, original boot badges removed.

it made aroun £5K on ebay auction last time.

I think the Sportline badges are original.
Lovely car with a great spec but I guess the colour will limit its apeal?
At £5K it would be a fantastic car, £9.5K is is bit high.
Why no engine or chassis pics?

Jees'h....that colour would be a bit hard to handle, especially with the brown lower sections.

It's unusual and i think the colour scheme works quite well ...

Howard you are starting to worry me....:p

I'm with Howard on the this.....I like the colour.

But then again, my 230E was Havannah Brown with Chinchilla side mouldings and bumpers......I suppose a kind of negative of this car :D

i take it as its a K redg the owner has paid to have the center console changed

shame its so much as it would make a good car for as new spare parts like the 5 speed box and engine

they have not shown enough interior shots

thats 2 of these ultra low mise cars that have been spotted this week

What's up with the centre console ?

Looks standard to me and interesting to see that it comes with Climate Control which is not that common a fitment on W124's

That's what i thought ( looks standard )

Climate control was a very rare option on w124's in the UK. Common in the US though.

Odd that this car has the centre console roll-top box....that was usually only fitted to cars which came with a pass airbag and as a replacement for the lost glovebox. Might be a retro fit.

Colour is odd....back when i was in 6th form, my father had a mushy pea-green coloured 190....2.0 carburettor version. Awesome condition, but colour was not digestable. Strange though that if you flick through showroom brochures from the 80s they do feature the 201/124's in the oddest of colours.

I have never understood the love of low mileage cars.

Rubber, seals etc all have a shelf life which isn't hugely affected by normal use, so will still need lots of parts doing to it etc.

My cars first engine was replaced due to lack of use, it's no good for them at all.

Me either. The car has "full history" which may mean it's had a PDI and one service. In 15 years

If it's been serviced annually I'd expect the vendor to say so. It'd make it a lot more attractive

I think you could get away with the odd 2 years gap so long as attention is also paid to anti-freeze and brake fluid.

This is not just low mileage, its a time-warp car that should have virtually zero abrasive damage. You just can't economically restore a high mileage car to this condition, but you can replace the odd sticky part in a low mileage car. Of course all the usual head gasket and wiring loom issues will still apply, but at least you could do the wiring loom now before the ECU gets zapped.

Had the car done 150,000 with full service history it would have been worth considerably less, £2000 or so. But this car is really more like a 3 year old car that had cost £50k, so £10k is not really such a bad deal.

The colour is perhaps more limited in appeal. I can't understand why there is no rear badging, and the Sportline badges were never a UK option as far as I know.

The headlamp wipers are set in an odd position too.

Delete rear badges was an MB (and BMW) no-cost option in the 1990s. In Germany it was mainly the biggest engine variants that were "de-badged" whereas in the UK it was nearly always the poverty spec small engine variants that were de-badged.
I think that both MB and BMW made sure that the exhausts of the different models were slightly different so that you could still tell the size of the de-badged car.
