Went into the parts department at mercedes Stockport today and was vey disappointed with the service, or lack of.
15 minutes I was waiting, ringing the bell whilst a member of the parts team was sat in the office facing me less than 8 foot away. He could definitely see me and was not on a phone. Other members of staff walked past me and into the office throughout my time there, not 1 asked if I was being seen to.
I have emailed the general manager so am waiting on a reply. But I will not be using that dealership again.

When I came to buy my car, Stockport would have been the preferred choice geographically. I rang them to make a few enquiries and also swapped a few e-mails but it was like pulling teeth, so I went elsewhere.

IIRC correctly they are not a franchise, but are part of the MB UK network. Why not drop MB a line as well?

.

The time for talking is over,a pile of old tyres and some petrol will get there full attention!!!!!

I bought my very first Mercedes from them all those years ago a W124 300E.

It was then called Dobmanread.

Well surprise surprise no reply from the manager. Does anyone know an email address for mercedes uk?

Hold your horses a little bit.... I'm sorry this lack of service has ruined your life this much but surely a courtesy call or even a visit back there wouldn't go amiss before going direct to MB?

You won't achieve anything by going to them, other than MB speaking to the dealer saying 'please give Mr Customer 10% off his mirror casing or whatever bit he is trying to buy'

This ambulance chasing culture drives me mad... What are you trying to achieve by contacting MB? What's the purpose of sharing a relatively minor annoyance on here? Do you want the MD's email address for mcdonaldss when one of the 16 year olds forgets your chips with your burger order?

Try and call or visit to express your dissatisfaction and move on.

Sambo- don't try and class me as an ambulance chaser! What's the point in emailing the parts dept? They will only ignore it. I emailed the dealership manager first and got no response.
I'm not after money off, just want to highlight a lack of customer service.

Why should I go back and waste my time/fuel to be ignored again?

I decided to put my experiences on here as its relevant to the forum.

Totally Agree Jay, spot on!

Is this the kind of service that we an expect from a premium badge sambo? Or does that term even exist anymore?

Basic manners cost nothing ?

I think sambo got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning!! : s

You are doing the right thing- a sensible company should be interested in negative customer feedback (even if it's down to perception or misunderstanding rather than fault), and I'd hope it wouldn't have to go far up within MB UK before reaching someone who cares. The more people who accept shoddy service, the more it becomes the norm.

In life, 3 things are very useful to have: time, money and good health.

I'm in the fortunate part of my life when I am time rich. Gone are the days when I would get poor service and shrug it off with a, "stuff 'em, I'll take my custom elsewhere". I always take the time to compliment good service, I'm understanding when things go wrong, but downright shoddy service like the OP received would always, always get the sharp end of my tongue.

I might be time rich but I wouldn't be happy to waste it spending 15 minute at a parts desk while someone ignores me. No siree.

With time to spare, I'd be complaining in incremental steps all the way up to the Mercedes headquarters in Germany. Trust me, someone will be grateful for the feedback eventually.

Get a life, vote with your feet and go to another dealer.

A good pal of mine died last week at the age of 47. Life is far to short to worry about shoddy service in a car showroom.

Mr Simon OldfieldManaging Director Email[email protected]Websitehttp://www.mercedes-benz.co.ukTwitter@MercedesBenzUK

Forget Simon....he don't respond or nor does his department.

I highlighted on another merc forum the experience I had recently that the first time in my life drove me to make a complaint about rudeness. In short, I was told on the phone by their customer service team to take my business to another company.

Still awaiting a simply sorry, from anyone, let alone the MD.

Sorry for your loss. I will be going to another dealership. As mentioned before I only put my experiences on here as its relevant to the forum. If the outcome of this is they improve customer service for future customers then ill be happy.

My father in law died aged 48 last year so I too have lost someone very close, very young. He hated ignorant people so he would be right behind me on this 1 :-)

I wouldn't waste my time going in, if they don't want the business, they won't take much notice of your complaint (as you can see already)

Why should you give them another chance for being ignorant?

I would say email the complaint to MB and if they do ever get back to you, give them a piece of your mind. Whether they take it on board is another matter, but they should at least get to hear the complaints of their customers
