Coming together now, just a few bits to sort, bonnet badge and V6 on each side, arch liners, etc.

There 9x20 ML reps from Germany, 950kg load rating.
Tyres are coming off as there poor quality and just used to get the rims on as on a budget.
I am planning on 275/35/20 PS3 but at £250 each I will get a pair on the rear first.

I have moved on with it now and the front arch liners are fitted, all new design with new fittings and I have the V6 badge on each side.
Just about to flat and polish the rest of the van and wax.
Springs next, front Spax as its way to high and short rods on the level units to drop the rear 40mm.

Looks really great and worthwhile all the work. Every now and then I get the temptation to attempt something similar on my Viano. I am a great enthusiast of the Viano as I think it is very unfairly dismissed as it really is the most useful vehicle we have ever had. Any work though will have to wait until I have finished tinkering with the 450.

Thought of fitting the new rear lights? A big improvement on the standard giving the rear screen a wrap around look and altering the very vertical appearance of the rear end.

I know someone who has done it, but u will have to swap the rear window cause the gaps are wrong with the original screen!! The new screen is a different shape!!

Is it? Had one on loan and it didn't look any different.

Yes definitely different, door is the same, but the glass is just a bit wider at the bottom to meet the lights. A shame as they doi look nice, but there we go , Suprised someone hasn't fabricated a conversion piece out of plack plastic that would clip on the door to fill the gap ???

Sure it would be easy enough

You can get a black lacquer that allows red light through. So a cheap alternative would be to spray the top half of the rear lights.

I was thinking of a new rear screen and a pair of lights, theres a few £ there so it can wait.
Mirrors next, electric heated and folding with lights and camera going in, the camera points at the road on the near side and displays in the rear view mirror.
What I need for that is the code for that camera for the data card to SCN code.

Cant find anything about it on the EPC Ian , no references to camera in the mirror.

The one that amoss had was in a 2008 vehicle so the mirrors would have been the old style most likely. Can find the code for auto dimming mirror which is F71, but absoluteley nothing for kerbside cameras.

Have you found anything else out yet ??

Nick

Hi, Nick
No, well the camera is on epc with no code and the mirror with also no code.
I have a vin with this fitted and its plug and play in the door controller but not sure about the mirror, I can see it plugging into the over head control panel.
There is also a harness on epc the does say about camera.
Have a look inside the mirror to see if the mount is there Nick as you have a face lift type.
I am thinking its code F65 for the camera.
F71 for auto dip is nice, its as well to do that at the same time.
I am only looking at this because it has most fitted.
Might also fit the remote pre heater.

F65 Is the code for folding mirrors Ian, Will have a look later in the mirror but i am doubting it will be there as the pic i saw of it showed a clear indentation for the camera to sit in in the housing, As the van was a 2008 it would sureley have had the old pre facelift mirrors so would not quite sit right with the facelifted front end.

Nick

No F64 is folding, F69 is the light in the mirror and F68 is electric mirrors.
You have to cross over some parts as they just don't work, if I can get the camera working then transplanting in the face lift mirror is no problem.
Same with the parking sensors, they are from my old bumper and transplanted into the new.

But if you look on the link below it uses F65 for folding mirrors, maybe this code is unique to Viano's

Going tg be tricky to find the parts i reckon, but knowing your determination you will track them down from some far flung part of the world LoL
