Went to select D but the lever would not budge... Manually overriden the security lug where the solenoid usually releases after putting the foot on the brake pedal.
Great.. got going but stuck in first. Anyway, luckily, it turns out to be the electronic control module board located near the shifter again. This is the 2nd one this car has had in the space of 6 years of a low mileage Viano (58k).
Luckily it was all done on Warranty to be absolutely fair to them, the dealership was very good.
My question is .... has anyone else had any trouble with this ? Will it go again, what can be done. Next time, I will be out of warranty on not on my drive.
