Vibration.....

If this vibration can be repeated whenever you reach that speed then I would suggest it is a warning, and perhaps something that should be checked sooner, rather than later. What sort of speeds can be simulated on rolling roads? I ask this out of ignorance, but perhaps it could be a safe way of trying to locate this vibration?

John

Thanks John, I had thought of this, but rolling roads have there own vibrations, which might just negate my vibration due to harmonic vibration sympathy. Or just otherwise mask the vibrations of the car.

I'm not too concerned to be honest as I never do these sort of speeds generally, my last moving violation was in 1980 for failing to come to a complete stop at a STOP sign, although I was going slow enough to manage to get my Kharmann Ghia into 1st with no sychro. Oh well, it was only $15. Sorry, I digress, this was just a test. It's a shame about the vibration because it was still pulling quite strongly at the time I tapped-off.

Cheers, Bill. ;)

Didn't Maff do a V-Max run at Bruntingthorpe in the CL65 with a buckled front wheel ?

I tried to stop a guy yesterday who had a wobbly back tyre , he wouldn't even stop and take a look - as I said , I begin to wonder at the sanity of people sometimes - this guy was heading for then M10/M1 .

I would tend to check my tyres before trying to get airborne .
