The plan has always been to rebuild all callipers, change pads, shoes, pipes, hoses, master cylinder so that the car is running or stopping like it did from the factory.
So I got all the callipers unseized and rebuilt using new pistons, seals etc, when i came to change the rear shoes on the passenger side as soon as i touched the spring clips the shoes just fell off and on closer inspection the whole brake plate is shot!
Now i thought the hard part was trying to source the part but my local merc dealer had a new plate in stock and it cost me £18 which is a lot less than the Non-Genuine ones i found on the net, anyways googling around seems like its not an easy bolt on bolt off jobbie and requires the whole hub removed and i need to get a special socket as well.
Is there anything else i need to be aware of before i tackle the job on the weekend?
