w124 260e air filter question?

Evening all, I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether I would be able to get a performance air filter for my 87 260e, I'm not really fussed if its an induction kit or a direct replacement jobbie but id like a little more performance from my silky straight six. any info would be gratefully received, cheers.

I wouldnt recommend changing your induction set up. Your 260E should be fast enough It isnt a sports car just a Luxury Motorway Cruiser with enough poke in it to surprise the Saxo drivers when needed. BUT I may be shot down here

I don't know of one being available - I had a look earlier in the year for one for my 190E 2.6, and found something on demon tweeks but the picture was of a panel air filter, not a big round one.

I wouldn't bother with iot to be honest. If your performance feels down, or it feels like its revving to hard before doing anything on kickdown, your ATF could need changing. Did the job on mine. I wouldn't go messing around with the induction system, the bosch fuel injection system is marginal enough on its own.
