Hi All,

The 260e I bought a few weeks ago came with only one key.

Any ideas on how to get another without involving a stealer ?

Its a 1990 car so doubt it would have any chips or anything would it ?

Cheers

Jamie

Most cobblers shops have a key making machine & charge less than a tenner for an old fashioned steel key.

If they don't have one in stock they'll order one for you. Last time I needed one it took 3 days & cost £7.

I went to a locksmiths and they cut me a very similar looking key. It was about £12.

If we assume you have a key cut and it works in the lock, if you then loose your existing key, will the new spare key by-pass the immobiliser and start the car?

as far as I know there just basic keys, need a cobblers with laser cutter to make one, and will function same as original, dont have to worry about alarms etc
