All of a sudden my beloved 500 sec cut out on me on the way to work , got her going but she began to miss-fire then cut out permanently. Have since changed plugs, leads, disi cap & rotor arm, ignition control module & c.p.s. New plugs get damp, spark is not evident but she just cranks all day long ! I broke the crank sensor housing removing the old c.p.s I have a feeling the c.p.s is not aligned correctly thus resulting in no spark, got new housing on order so will have to wait to see if it does the job.
Not sure if the g/box needs pulling back to fit the housing any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

Replaced the ignition control unit already, I think its got be poor signal from new c.p.s the housing is not proper secure.

Thanks, tried that today no signal from new cps sensor, still think I'll have to fetch the box back to replace the damaged housing the cps only has to be 1mm out to not pick up from flywheel. Anyone know of any other way of replacing the cps housing?! Pulling the box is so time consuming!

you can get an equivalent signal from the sensor in the dizzy, it was used in the 1st gen cars then replaced with the CPS and terminates at the X11 socet on 2nd gen cars

The situation so far!
Mounted the cps housing correctly & ran like a dream for 5 minutes then cut out. Now on cranking we get one strong spark initially & then nothing. Absolute frustration is now setting in, any other useful ideas anyone?
