Does anyone know if these ignition control modules are a straight plug & play swap with any others?

007 545 22 32

007 545 07 32

TIA.

Thanks Jay, I was trying to figure out if any of the other ICMs fitted to either the 420 or 500 were compatible. In other words, will a car equipped with one of these need another one of these with exactly the same part number or are there other part #s that will work as well.

These are all compatible for either the 420 or 500 :

007 545 0732
010 545 6632
003 545 9132
003 545 9232
007 545 2232

These are also part numbers for 560 modules that will also work with the 420 and 500, but you're unlikely to find one spare anyway.

004 545 0032
004 545 3432
006 545 5432

When i was working at mercman, we always sold these as interchangeable between all of the V8's and never had a comeback.

All of the ignition control modules before 1993 were like this for all models, had loads of different interchangeable numbers...

GEN II ICM modification for 50.1 AMG grind Cams

Sorry to bring up this old thread but I needed help from the UK pro's. I have recently converted my 89 560SEC to solid lifters and 50.1 AMG clone cam and need to raise my idle to 800 +/- 50 RPM's. I know that Gen I Idling Control Modules were modified but how about the Gen II? The 50.1 AMG grind cams do not like to idle at 500-600 rpm stock set up. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks in advance!

Just seeing if anyone out there in the UK has overcome the problem that I described above. Any help would be much appreciated!!! I am in uncharted area regarding converting a GEN II M117 to a solid lifter setup.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi realise this is a long dead thread, but I am intrigued by the interchangeable part numbers for the 560 EZL's, mine MB 006 545 54 32 is on it;s way out and finding a replacement is really difficult. Can anyone advise other available numbers?

Thanks

Dan

There's something in the back of my mind that says that AMG used to alter their electronic idle cars by altering the input from the engine temperature sensor to fool the car it was running a colder engine. I presume this would alter both the mixture and idle-- not sure. You might then have to switch back to the correct temperature output when the engine was "off idle" or maybe not :dk: If necessary you could to use the [ closed throttle ] idle indicator switch to switch between the two. Your best bet would be to ask about this with the AMG M117 gurus in the USA

I'm pretty sure there is no alternative number listed on MB's EPC.

If you post up the first 6 numbers on your VIN after 'WDB' I'll check definitively & post a screen print showing what's available.

I have an EZL 006 545 54 32 from a 560 SEL for sale.

MB says only 006 545 06 32.

Are you sure the problem is the EZL?

Okay so sorry for the slow response, been doing some work on the old girl and here's where we're at.

Purchased a donor 1991 560 SE (Rare, 1200 made, almost broke my heart to scrap it but the chassis rail were rotten) I now have an almost full set of electrical component spare, plus I took:

Black leather interior
euro Lenses
Stock suspension front springs and mounts (mine had been lowered)
Rear blind and mechanism
Aerial
Passenger mirror assembly
Original Becker radio

I then added a few pieces from merc parts in the UK. New blind cable, found some sunroof pop up deflected clips in the UK, a tow hook cover, etc.

Now I have a physically pretty good specimen, but she still had a shake, and the idle problem was getting worse.

Back to the garage she went, after three weeks and a new fuel pressure regulator she's actually idling, rather than having to drive with both feet, but even after a complete suspension investigation, and having had the fuel system gone through. She still doesn't like starting when hot, and the idle problem is creeping back again.

Any ideas? I did read a hot start issue could be fuel injector seal related.

The shake we think we've pinned down to the power steering box.

I'd like to refresh the topic. I have a MB W126 SE 500 with a broken bosch ignition module. I was searching for it and the price of it... well... pretty big. But I noticed a Siemens module that is pretty simmilar to the Bosch. The only difference is in the middle part of the module. Rest is all pretty the same. My Bosch number is 007 545 07 32 and the Siemens module is 014 545 45 32. Could anyone tell me if they are compatible?

No, that 0145454532 is for the M119 engine in the SL500 or W140 500.
How much have you been quoted for the 0075450732?
I can get you a used one, but still around £400.

I think it very unlikely an 014 545 45 32 would work in your car, it's for an M119 while an 007 545 07 32 is for an M117.

When you say the price of an 07 32 is pretty big are you pricing new or used modules?
