My 1994 manufactured, 1995 registered S500 Coupe with 119.970 engine, with twin distributors, coils and Bosch LH ignition has developed vibration and noisy engine between 1500-2000 revs.
No obvious problem below and above these revs. The vibration is quite severe and can be felt when sitting in the stationary car and I am now quite worried!
I have changed both distributors and rotors, plugs, airfilters, intake air and engine coolant temperature sensors but no change.
I have wondered about the ignition leads but they appear quite new ( I have had the car for about 6 months and do not now when they were last renewed).
Any ideas out there please?

I had not considered this but will investigate. Thanks.

Good lead Ian: it looks as if the engine is riding on the frame! So that could cause the vbration at a certain rpm range.
I gather that it is not easy to replace the engine mountings due to the lack of access space to the top bolts?
Has anyone done this job?
Many thanks!
