Last week I opened the boot and the "soft touch" made it's wirring noise - but did not stop until I poked my finger into the lock mechanism. No more noise, but the lock would not engage just bounce and not shut. luckily the weight of the tailgate keeps it shut for normal driving, even heavy rain didn't get in whilst driving. The exhaust fumes to not get in either, no red bull required.
My first experience of a Mercedes dealer was positive over at Tonbridge in Kent. Took them a bit longer than they estimated but did not charge for the extra time taken to reprogramme/sort out the "soft touch" electrics bit. £250 fitted, but the speed of service and attention was very good.
