W164 tailgate closing.

My 2006 ML has been to the dealers today to investigate the tailgate not closing properly, and the warning light displaying saying "tailgate open"

They said they have fixed it, but im not sure they have.

Before the problem occured when the tailgate was closed, there was the sound of a motor running, which seemed to pull the tailgate tighter to the closed position, if that makes sense.

But now there is no sound of a motor running.

Is there some kind of self closer not working properly?

probably just a switch on the tailgate not telling it to pull it closed.

Hello. If the dealer reflashed the rear sam unit that may be correct. Double check to see what they did. Also has the car an auto closing door? e.g. Goes up by itself and the red button to lower automatically? Also there is a modified lock for the tailgate.
