Hello!

My car is 190E , 1.8 and -92.

I tried to install new air flow potentiometer and the problem is measuring the voltage. It says between the mid pin and top pin there should be 0,7 V. But when i measure that, it shows 0,3-1,1 V !! Voltage just jumps all over the time and i cant get it to stay still.

And i cant really keep it like that, idle run is very bad (jumping), the car shuts off at almost every stop.

Here is what i mean

SG-Motorsports Air Flow Meter Potentiometer Replacement

Please help me!
Thank you!

Try disconnecting the idle slide and driving it. You will have to keep the throttle up at cold start for a minute

Thanks for responding

Idle slide is that little black clip with lever which is connected to throttle (and 2 conductors goes to that clip) right?

Well i did that, the idle running went clearly better (not jumping so much), when motor was hot. But the voltages still was jumping a little bit. Sometimes the voltage stayed still, but when i little bit tighten the screws, it started to jump around 0.650-0.950... etc

what next? :)

Hi guys,

Did you have any joy with this?

I have a 92 2.0 190E with same problem although. When disconnected it had same issue... I have noticed that this is a problem I've seen on many forums but unfortunately there have been no proper solutions or ideas of what it could be.

Any help would be much appreciated...

Thanks in advance.
