W202 Boot Lid Springs

Hi everyone,

One of the springs which balances out the weight of the bootlid has snapped in my w202 C36 and i am after a spare to replace it. Can anyone recommened somwhere i could buy one or does anyone have any spares that i could buy?

If it makes any difference which im sure it doesnt the drivers side spring is the one that snapped; the passengers side seems fine and i dont think i will need to replace it as i dont think its been stretched out of shape or anything.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? It seems a weird thing to have snapped and its never happened to any of my other cars.

Are you sure its the spring or the bracket which its attached to? On the W202 it's a weak point where it rusts and snaps...

As ^ says it's normally the brackets on the hinge that break (and normally a spare hole on the bit's that left you can attach the spring to).
