W202 Bootlid in silver needed urgently!!

Hi

Some friends recently pushed me out of mud and in the process indented the bootlid. doh. rippled right the way along.

Does anyone have a spare bootlid in silver I could buy? or know where i could get one?

Also, how easy will it be to remove/replace this part? anyone got any experience?

probably quiet a hard part to get hold of (rust free) as the bootlock tends to go and people replace the whole lid! I think you`ll find even if you get another silver one it`ll have scratches so you`ll need to get it sprayed, why not just get yours repaired?

also there are 2 types, facelift and non facelift.

Even if you did buy another matching silver boot lid (same colour as your vehicle) it would not match with your original paintwork and would need to re-sprayed and the rear quarter panels etc blemished for a good finish/match.

Get a quote from a body shop to repair/re-spray your original boot lid first. IMO get your original boot lid sorted by body shop.

hi guys

its a prefacelift model.

my garage has quoted me £180 to repair the existing one. Pretty frustrating as it was a stupid thing to do in the first place. doh.

its not hugely noticable so i may just live with it. see how my finances are after xmas!
