w202 c180 engine swap track car

hi guys recently bought a cheap c180 sport, which me and my friend both had a drive in, that then made us decide to buy another for a track toy, the track one has smashed pistons damgaged head valves etc so no point rebuilding when different engines are cheap enough, was just wondering if theres any engines that will swap in quickly and easily? the 2.8 im particularly looking at here, just unsure of any differences for mounting, ancillarys in the way ecu immobiliser alarm swaps etc same as the bmw ews ass ache?

any engine will bolt up - even silly things live V8s - but the ECU and wiring will be interesting

cheers mate, only reason im asking mainly about the 2.8 is my local yard offered me one for 50 quid complete, can take whatever wiring and other bits I need as well, don't suppose you know if the wiring is plug and play or the looms need to be swapped? and im assuming I can just swap with the ecu from the donor vehicle and just plug that in?

You will also need the ignition switch and keys too.

thanks, pretty much going to be the same as bmw engine swaps loads of fun, so quick list, engine ecu wiring loom ignition switch keys with transponder in fob I presume? if so do I need the receiver or anything else? cheers

I would just buy a C280. You can get one for £800

that's 800 I don't have where as I already have a rolling shell waiting to go and a complete engine for 50 quid

Steering lock too. Unlock steering lock then disconnect battery, then remove ign key and switch, then lock, and ecu, they are all coded to each other.
