Graham; When I met you, you told me you didn't want to do any mods - ever since I've seen you enhance your car a little at a time, and now you're talking about a C43 kit!? WHAT HAPPENED!? :D :D

..... too many 'bad' influences in here, I think !!!

P.S. Looks :D:D Graham ..... hurry up & get the bodykit !! ;)

Seems quieter when cold too, is this a normal trait? With the old exhaust being silent, I can't say I noticed.

Last modded exhaust I had was a twin 2" centre exit on my 1000cc Mini!

Mine is DEFINITELY noisier (mainly rattly) when cold - but then its probably nearing the end of its natural life - so might have to think about some sort of custom replacement soon !! :D

What, like a piece of customised straight through pipe? ;)

It seems I may never know which CLK my exhaust is from - I called MB Milton Keynes who said the part number is not valid on the computer. Apparently "the part number on the part can differ from the one on the system".

On IM Shude has just admitted his C43 box used to do the "crackle and pop" trick and he also set off a car alarm once with it too. I now rest knowing this is the normal effect when you fit a V8 back box on a 4 pot car!! :D

My Remus exhaust has changed sound since it has been used and sooted up a bit, a bit louder but much of a deeper tone, more like a rumble/burble rather than a raspy noise.

I can understand how the soot makes them sound less tinny, but cant understand how it makes them louder??

It's probable that some of the wadding in the box has been blown through. Sometimes rockwool is used as a silencer.
