Most early to mid-90s stuff had the option of the front apron badge; C140, W140, R129 etc. They disappeared round about the time they adopted the new "design language" with the AMG kits; R170 (pre-SLK32), C208, facelifted W202 and W220 etc.

My old W210 E36 AMG & C36, both wearing the early chin emblem.
Unlike the boot/truck emblem, the small chin emblem is still available from Mercedes HWA1045840143, was around £40GBP.
