The owner at Buryas Bridge is selling his C55 AMG...

C55 AMG

He has also owned various supercars including the 500E. For another £4K you can get a 04 C55 anyway...guess it wont be the same as getting one as rare as this but I think its still very overpriced.

did the c55 amg come out in w202 chassis?I thought they only came out in 2003 after the c32 amg in w203 chassis.
Correct me if i am wrong but the only AMG in w202 that i know was th C36 and the C43.
Are there any pictures? or has he just shoved a 5.5 V8 into the engine bay?

The C55 AMG is original in the W202 body, although VERY rare. I have only seen 1 other, in orange - Designo edition I think.

I saw a W202 C55 Estate in Kings Road Chelsea once. A bit tatty but very rare.

There are I believe 3 in the country - pssbly combination of W + S202s. So I guess that makes 1 estate then. Can't get any rarer than that :D.

The W202 C55 AMG is rarer than hens teeth! There was a blue one for sale not long ago after having been featured in the Mercedes enthusiast. I've never seen one in the flesh so to speak!

The W203 C55 AMG came out in June 2004, replacing the C32 AMG W203.

That particular W202 C55 is in my opinion very over priced. There are some low mileage W203 C55's around for under 30K. Although not as rare!

Heres the post for when I spotted the 202 C55 Estate.

I remember looking up P1 JOY on the RAC site at the time to check if it was genuine and not just fake badging and it definitely showed up as a C55. Sadly not showing up anymore so I guess the owner must have sold it.

And it was definitely a W202, it's just i have never heard of a C55 202 estate, as there where only 30 saloons built worldwide,

It sure was Peter. I had my 202 at the time so thats why I did a double take. It had no previous owners either so may have been a Chelsea local who was loaded and probably kept it as a workhorse as it was all dented and dirty.

The W202 C55 AMG DID exist as a estate version, and for those that didnt know, theres one for sale right now at Mobile.de:

C55 AMG T

Not a bad deal either for such a rare vehicle!

The rest of the C55 AMG's sold mainly went to Japan, where you'll also find a whole range of other supercars including most of the rarer 1995 E500 Limited and 124 E60's.

I stand corrected High - Lo my apologies, you live and learn. Euro's 19,000 for the 55 T = £ 13,000 a good price.

It's a shame some people don't appreciate what they have.
