W202 Central locking / unlocking

I have a C280 (2000, facelift) and have the locking set so that on first press of unlock button only the drivers door (+ fuel filler) unlocks and then the second press unlocks all other doors. Upon driving off the auto locking feature cuts in at about 8mph and locks all doors. Usually upon stopping the car, if I open the drivers door, the door button pops up and the door opens (just the driver door because I've only opened that one in the first place, or all doors if I've opened them all by pressing the unlock button twice to get in in the first place). This morning I'm pretty certain I opened just the drivers door with the remote, drove to work and upon getting out by opening the drivers door ALL door locks popped up. That shouldn't happen and I think it did actually happen once before. It's not causing a problem, as such, but I am curious. Perhaps the system sometimes becomes "confused" maybe ? Anyone had similar ?

Our CLK and SLK both open all the doors on getting out even though only opened one to get in. Never been any different.

Thanks for that. Strange. On the C Class, and I'm sure yours should be the same, if you unlock only 1 door upon opening, then upon subsequent getting out (after driving) only 1 door unlocks. It's in the handbook. That's what happens with mine 95% of the time but just occasionally all doors unlock. I think mine's just an occasional glitch. Thanks for your input.

On both my 202's, all the doors unlock when you open the drivers door, never known it to be any different.

Andy, if yours is pre-facelift then this will be the case. Mt other W202 is a "pre" and that does the same as yours. However, on the facelift version, the locking and all its logic was changed.

PS Just seen that one of yours is 1999 so must be post facelift. Therefore, yours may have been programmed so that all doors lock and unlock with one press of the remote. My facelift is programmed differently (see handbook for the options which you can program yourself) hence my original post.

Yeah your right on of my cars is a prefacelift (C230K) and the 43/55 a facelift (as they all are).
The C230K operates as i said previously, but i,m off out in the AMG tonight so i,ll have a little play with the key programming etc. and see what it does, I,ll post back and let you know.
