Hi,
As some of you are aware i,m fitting my old black C43 leather interior into my pre facelift C230K.
I,m a bit concerned regarding the compatibility of the facelift door cards onto pre-facelift doors.
Has anyone done this? Whats involved?
Many Thanks

should be fine andy, its the otherway round you normally have probs

I've swapped the doors on my W202, and put my pre-facelift cards into facelift doors.

No real problems, just make sure the basics are covered; i.e. electric windows in the new door cards if you have them, etc...

Hi,
Well i have just been out and removed the existing N/S door card from the C230K, and comparing it to the C43 item, there does seem to be "some" differences.
The original C230K has a rivetted metal bracket fitted to the inner door for securing the door handle, so straight away this will need removing, there is a fixing in this area for the C43 door card but it doesnt line up so i,m gonna have to drill a new hole in the inner door skin, for this fixing, the other two screw fixings on the C43 door card one adjacent to the door airbag, i won,t reuse as essentially is only there for additional door card security in case of airbag deployment, i,m just hoping the fixing near the interior handle lines up. If I manage to fit it today i,ll have to remove it again to thread the loom through for the electric seat switches.
Something worth noting, it appears the C230K has puddle light looms already fitted just taped up in the existing door loom, the same as my C43 so it will have puddle lights once the C43 door card is installed.

Hi,
Well just to update this thread.
I have now fitted the C43 door cards to my C230K c/w the electric seat switch looms.
I had to drill out a bracket on the inner door skin, with this removed the card would sit properly and I found that none of the other fixings required were there or lined up with any existing holes in the inner door skin. So I had to drill an additional three holes in each door and used some heavy self tappers to fix the card through the drilled holes.
To fit the door looms I had to remove the door speakers and using a draw wire an tape fed the looms from the door to the cable ducting in the front floor wells.
I fitted the puddle lights in the door cards but found they were not working, but it appears that though the looms are fitted in the door, they are not fitted car side, so i,m gonna be looking at where to connect these to in the interior lighting circuit.
Fingers crossed the door cards should be there to stay.
Still have a bit to do before the seats get fitted though.
1, Install chassis loom for electric seat movement.
2, Install seat heating chassis loom.
3, Cut switch holes and install seat heating switches and control unit.
4, Install air tank for Ortho seats
5, Install Ortho seat plumbing.
6, Remove seat occupancy sensor from old cloth seat and fit in C43 seat.
Whilst doing this I will take the opportunity to install an electric rear window blind as well.

Nice one Andy.

I havent seen you for a while! lol

Seems like good progress Andy, would be great to document all the hard work for other users to use too.

Hi,
Olly been meaning to pop in for a chat, congrats on the the new edition to the family.
I thought about doing a HOW TO on the rear blind install, as there seems to be much interest judging by PM's I have been getting.
Did think about the interior change, but i have now started it i have got the 43 folding seat in complete with load thru feature and rear headrests, and now the front door cards and electric seat door looms.
I have a week off of work soon hopefully to do some on the interior change so i,ll take some pics if people are interested.

The puddle lights require a lot more work on the pre-facelift model. There is a howto on this forum for the pre-facelift ones you know :)

Where?
I thought this too, IIRC it was done by Pluggers. I can,t find it, only the one you did for the face lift is there that I can see.

Sadly loom is no longer available but I have 2 spare used looms if anyone is interested.

If these are the looms car side, i,ll be interested I,ll drop you a PM later this evening as my works pc won,t allow me to send.

There the looms that would go from the control module in the doors to the light holders ideal for facelifts but could be extended for the pre-facelifts however you would need to add an extra feed from the interior dome light to the doors.

Sorry I misunderstood.
I have all the door wiring for the puddle lights already fitted from the factory, what i have missing is the wiring from the door separation point plug.
Puddle light wiring goes into the plug door side, car side there is no cables in the corresponding pins of the connector.
I,ll have to loop off my illuminated door sill supply and run a couple of cables to door separation connector, just have to identify the right OEM crimp for the door separation connector.
