I am thinking about installing two gauges in my C180 (1996): an oil pressure gauge and a oil temperature gauge.
From what I have seen in Haynes maintenance book I was unable to determine where to attach the respective sensors. There is an oil level sensor (in the sump) which, I reckon ,doesn't provide oil pressure depentent output.
In addition I believe that somewhere in the engine body an oil pressure test point must exist, to allow oil pressure measurements. Does anyone of you fellows has an idea?
(I'm focusing in the oil pressure mainly as I think that the oil temperature can then easily be sensed and measured.)

Thank you for responding Number_Cruncher and renault12ts
No, as you may know C180 hasn't an oil pressure gauge.
What a pity.

I didn't know that.

Are you looking at fitting an oil pressure gauge from another MB in the range, or, an aftermarket gauge?

Hi,
Just find where the existing oil pressure light switch is and TEE the gauge sensor off of that, aftermarket gauges come with a TEE piece for this, well the one i bought years ago did.

andy27168 thank you for the response.

As I've mentioned in my first post the car has
an oil level sensor (in the sump). I cannot find the pressure switch you've mentioned.
To make it more clear in the car's instrument cluster there is not the well knowm red light
which is activated by the low oil pressure. There is only a yellow light, which is activated
by the low oil level sensor to declaire that oil has to be added.
I believe that the lack of information regarding the oil pressure is now clear.
Thank you again andy27168 .
