Hello,

The car failed the MOT on the NSF headlamp level being too high. My questoin is, is there an offical height that the concentrated part of the beam should sit at? Whilst it's very simple to adjust the headlamp level, i dont' really know what height it should be, to determine if it's high or low?

Anyone know the 'official' height?

Thanks!

It has to be set with a beam setter. The MOT sation should do it automaticaly for free. Mine does.

Thanks - when the car was MOTd, i was confused as to why the centre didn't do it there and then since the adjustment screw is obvious and easy to get at. I'll prod them when i go for the retest (which is free) :)

Every MOT should do shouldnt they? Im suprised they didnt do it automatically!

Plenty of them in London fail the car and then charge between £5 and £20 to realign them which usually takes no more than 30 seconds.

The whole thing is a scam

what a crap place london is truning into. Because house prices are so expensive, everyone is out to rip each other off, crime is very bad in some areas, just glad i move up north when i did, people and so much friendlier and local garage dont normally rip people off
