C250TD
Hi everyone i have purchased a C250TD a few months a go and watching this forum as a guest and finally plucked up the courage to join in.

I have looked at cars of fellow members and have decided to go down the same route of improving the the C250 TD.

I would like to get some help on how to block the egr Valve and where to block it from.

all guidence will be appricated
cheers:thumb:

I too have the above mentioned car, but do not know what the results good or bad will be doing this? Any help advise....?

This thread might help - the 250TD is essentially a 5 cylinder 300TD - if the electronics are the same you may need this to fool the ECU.

I did this mod to my 98 c250td a few years ago.

Where the egr valve bolts on there is a gasket.
Remove egr valve and gasket, trace round gasket onto some sheet alloy plate.
Cut plate out exactly the same size as the gasket apart from no hole in the middle (just the two bolt holes).
Put alloy plate in place of gasket.
Job done.
I never bothered blocking or removing any vac pipes.

What improvements did you get?

The reason I did the EGR valve mod was for a couple of reasons, but the main one was to stop all the black gunk that ends up blocking the inlet tract of the engine. It also removes the egr valve from any possible fault finding.

Just take the EGR valve off & clean it every 10k miles- it's a 20 minute job on my Mondeo & I presume yours is little different- and you also remove any oily gunk the turbo puts into the system.
