W202 (w/o A/C) only cold air from centre

Hello all

I'm sorry if I've posted this on the wrong section but I can't seem to find the category for heaters.

My heater works well but only from the side vents and on the screen - if I open the centre vents it just blows cold air. I've noticed other threads where they mention Air Con but as I don't have that fitted I wondered if anyone has any suggestions please.

Hi,
The centre vents on a non A/C equipped w202 are fesh air only, and will only give air to the temperature outside of the car.

Thanks Andy that would obviously explain it. It's odd though, I've never had a car where that is the case. No wonder it's a bit nippy at the moment.

yea i wondered about that! thaught it was weard!
but i have a 1996 c230kompressor! with air-con and thats the same!

Before i had Merc's i had a spell of 10-12 years of having BMW's M5's, M535i's, 635i's, and they all had the same the upper centre vent, was always fresh air vent, though my W202 C43 with digital Climate control the centre air vent will cough out heat when required, so its not the same for all 202's and will depend on the system fitted.

yea i just have standard dials! so probable just that!
