you can hold 2 buttons on the control panel to normalize it. i cant remember which 2

UPDATE: I have tried 4 different climate control fascias: 3 digital and 1 analog.

Part numbers:
A 203 830 02 85
A 203 830 05 85
A 203 830 09 85
A 209 830 02 85

The last one is the latest supercession for all prefacelift digital climate control fascias. I tested 3 times each of the units and normalised them and cleared errors prior testing and compared all 12 results and came up with some conclusions:
1) All errors of the digital fascias (apart from one error which i will discuss in more detail later) are due to different hardware therefore giving hardware identification errors however in practice they all work fine with my car.
2) All digital fascias behave the same and it is a myth that they are "2 types" with possibilities (one, both or none) to work. They all work but the give hardware identification errors in diagnosis.
3) The only difference between the 3 digital is that very first digital A2038300585 cannot recognize a rear booster blower, and does not give you a warning to normalise your stepper motors.
4) just to "remind" sunman ;-) and also inform others who do not know yet, manual normalising/resync can be initiated by pressing at the same time for 5 seconds the 2 first lower fascia buttons.
----------
ALSO regarding remote central locking:

I sent my car to Mercedes today, they tested it and confirmed my suspicion: the remote central locking problem is due to faulty antenna amp. They have to order a replacement one; unfortunately no stock in UK, I have to wait for a week. Hopefully they will replace it under guarantee.
-----------
regarding headrest normalising problem:
I already bought brand new headrest motors and will fit them during the weekend to see if the problem is sorted.

UPDATE: headrests sorted out

Now two problems left:

1) remote central locking: Confirmed that it is due to faulty antenna amp. Will be replaced this Thurdsay

2) air con ticking noise: Confirmed that it is due to the following error:

for the analog fascia
B15B8 : COMPONENT M2/21 (FRESH AIR FLAP ACTUATOR) IS STIFF OR BLOCKED
Or if you plug in the digital fascia translates to:
B15B8 : COMPONENT M2/19 (LEFT FRESH AIR FLAP ACTUATOR) IS STIFF OR BLOCKED

any ideas if i still need to remove the entire dash for rectifying this fault? What parts are aplicable to this fault that i might need to replace? thank you

Remove glovebox.

I would be surprised if they give you a TV amp under warranty given that it is not on your datacard.

I will remove the glove box firstly as you suggested and see how it goes. But do you know which flap actuator should be the one that causes the trouble? where exactly is located?

Regarding the antenna amp they agreed already to replace it under warranty since I bought it from them this year. Maybe in Australia MB dealerships are less customer oriented...

I hate the ticking noise... Lets hope I can resolve it by removing just the glove box. :(

You seem to spend more time complaining than you do thinking about what you want to achieve.

Where does the fresh air come from ? Where is the filter ? Where is the actuator that diverts the fresh air ? The answer is even in the above photos. You are serious arent you ?

You really need to stop asking for help and go over the basics.

miro all i was asking for is to tell me where exactly is the location of the motor responsible for the fault so that I can strip only the necessary trims....

UPDATE:

Glovebox removed. It is a faulty stepper motor just behind the command system. ;) swapped the motors around just to confirm that it is ticking due to fault inside the stepper motor. :bannana: Shame it is Sunday today. I could have completed the job if I had the motor. I am going tomorrow to buy one.

There was no need to remove the glovebox. I could have managed by removing just the comand unit. But never mind, I checked a few other things at the same time for future upgrades.

I like you miro beyond the fact you like to provoke me. At the end of the day we are all fellow forum members for some of the best mercedes online forums!

Stepper motor/digital air con

Hmm interesting photo's I have a ticking motor and get the same error code on the machine, wonder what the chances are its in the same location?
Also interested in upgrading my non digital air con control unit on my
2001 C270CDI S203, did you pick up your units anywhere special ?
