I have replaced twice the rear parktronic displays since the have gone faulty.

Now that got the car back from mercedes i noticed that the parktronic display is not working again.

I know it is not the sensors or anything else, If I replace the parktronic display everything will be fine.

Is this a known issue/common problem?

thank you

Firstly, pick another MB dealer :-) - I've never heard of someone having *so* many problems after the MB dealer has been near their car ... memory seat, parktronic sensors, all the stuff they broke/damaged when replacing your aerial etc.

I'd also check that the ground is good to the parktronic display, if that is loose for some reason maybee it's affecting the electronics in it. - I can't remember whether its just leds in there or something more complicated. You could do that by using the ground wire at the display as ground for a 21W (brake light) bulb connected to +12 somewher else.

Cheers
Richard

Check connections to the PTS display unit.

Off Topic: When getting my car back from my recent B Service the rear PTS display (which in integrated in to the rear light) was making a rattle. I think I have fixed it by firmly reseating the unit but one side is not firmly fixed as the other by a fraction and probably is out by enough to cause some annoying rattle. I will see how I get on. I doubt that warranty will cover this.

Perdi,

I have not met anyone with so many problems with their car and even after having the necessary tools to diagnose the problems. You need to do more research in your mods before attempting them or you will have many pitfalls.

sunman, i am proud of my mods and are all 100% functioning until unskilled mb employees mess up everything.

my advise to you from my experience:
NEVER LET OTHERS MESS AROUND WITH YOUR CAR...

If you want you follow it, otherwise you play russian roulette

I think what folks are suggesting might be fair comment, you appear to be extremely unlucky and hand on heart I cannot recall any other car having such a list:

After I got back the car from the dealership the driver seat controls did not work at all. I found out that this was due to a blown fuse 27.

I have replaced the fuse and can adjust the seat properly, however:

When I press memory and all motors are moving at the same time the fuse 27 (30amp) blows straight away.

This was not happening before. Any clues what might be the problem?

Everything works fine (tv, command, radio etc) however i lost remote central locking keyfob functionality (only infrared works close to the door handle).
I went to mercedes dealership, they diagnosed and said
that the antenna amp was faulty. Thay ordered another one but the problem still remains. They suspect wrong part number or wrong supercession and they wait confirmation from the central Mercedes office (
Milton Keynes) in the UK.

Mine was working but not remote central locking. They already tried 2 of them (a 203 870 31 89) but no remote function.... Have you tried remote central locking? Did you try to lock/unlock with your keyfob remote from distance?

I am upset at the moment as I got my car back in a complete mess. they broke many clips and forgot a lot of things to put back together, my rear parktronic screen does not work anymore, they scratched and dented my ashtray aluminium avantgarde trim, dash aluminum trim, gear knob aluminium trim and scratched my brand new leather leather gear knob, the broke the clips from the a-pillar trims, they forgot to hook back the headliner properly as the rear hook clip is not in place which effectively means the headliner has to come back out and put back on properly, they snapped one of the heating element ground wires of the rear windscreen, and all the weatherstrips around the headliner above the doors are poorely fitted. Basically they messed out everything. And we are talking for one of the biggest dealerships in the UK.

Hi guys, i have a few faults with my air con. I started having ticking noises after upgrading the standard air con control fascia to the AAC digital air con control fascia. Here is the fault list that DAS STAR diagnosis gave me:

1) B1390 COMMUNICATION ERROR OF AC BUS WITH COMPONENT A32M2 (ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FILTER FLAP ADJUSTMENT MOTOR)
2) B1598 COMPONENT M2/8 (LEFT DEFROSTER ACTUATOR) IS STIFF OR BLOCKED
3) B13A0 COMMUNICATION ERROR OF AC BUS WITH COMPONENT M2/9 (RIGHT DEFROSTER FLAP ACTUATOR)
4) B15A8 COMPONENT M2/10 (LEFT FOOTWELL FLAP ACTUATOR) IS STIFF OR BLOCKED
5) B13B0 COMMUNICATION ERROR OF AC BUS WITH COMPONENT M2/11 (RIGHT FOOTWELL FLAP ACTUATOR)
6) B13C0 COMMUNICATION ERROR OF AC BUS WITH COMPONENT M2/20 (RIGHT FRESH AIR FLAP ACTUATOR)
7) B15C8 COMPONENT M2/6 (LEFT BLENDING AIR FLAP ACTUATOR) IS STIFF OR BLOCKED
8) B15D0 COMPONENT M2/7 (RIGHT BLENDING AIR FLAP ACTUATOR) IS STIFF OR BLOCKED
9) B1100 NORMALISING OF THE POSITIONING MOTORS IS NOT OK. ONE OR SEVERAL POSITIONING MOTORS ARE FAULTY, OR NORMALIZING HAS NOT BEEN CARRIED OUT
10) B1340 COMMUNICATION ERROR OF AC BUS WITH COMPONENT B32/2 (AAC SUN SENSOR (4 IN TOTAL))
11) B1350 COMMUNICATION ERROR OF AC BUS WITH COMPONENT B31 (C-AAC MULTIFUNCTION SENSOR)
12) B1021 COMPONENT N22/4 (REAR BLOWER ELECTRONIC SELECTOR WHEEL) HAS SHORT CIRCUIT OR IDLE SPEED. IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS FAULT CAN BE IGNORED IF NO BOOSTER BLOWER IS INSTALLED
-----
RESULT OF ACTUATOR MOTOR MEASUREMENT:
ACTUATOR MOTORS THAT ARE NOT DISPLAYED ARE OK AND MAY NOT BE DISPLAYED.
13) A32M2 (ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FILTER FLAP ADJUSTMENT MOTOR [0..3616] 0 (0%)
14) M2 (LEFT DEFROSTER FLAP ACTUATOR) [0..2298] 1998 (87%)
15) M2/9 (RIGHT DEFROSTER FLAP ACTUATOR [0..2403] 0 (0%)
16) M2/11 (RIGHT FOOTWELL FLAP ACTUATOR) [0..1131] 0 (0%)
17) M2/19 (LEFT FRESH AIR FLAP ACTUATOR) [0..2555] 65535 (2565%)
18) M2/20 (RIGHT FRESH AIR FLAP ACTUATOR) [0..2520] 0 (0%)

I THINK FAULTS 1,10,11,12,13 ARE NOT APPLICABLE TO MY CAR SINCE I DOT HAVE THIS HARDWARE, I CHANGED THE AIR CONTROL PANEL TO THE LUXURY AAC BUT STILL THE REST OF THE HARDWARE IS THE STANDARD AIR CON.

I have a suspicion that my rear sam needs replacement anyway because of the following issues:

1) No wireless central locking with my remotes (only infrared and this again works only 70% of the times).
2) Optical ring does not work and comand does not recognise any optical devices although it is already coded to the devices (have tried 2 differend comands and 2 different cd changers just be be 100% sure it is not a comand/cd changer malfunction)
3) Electric roller blind does not work
4) Normalising of head restraints (headrests) does not work. Headrests work tamperamentally. (have already tried to normalise them with DAS, but no success to cure the problem).
5) Illuminated Door sills do not work.
6) Memory function of seats/mirrors does not seem to work

Also have ticking noise and flap actuation failures in the air-con but this is a different issue.

I have a w203 pre-facelift. After retrofitting rear roller blind, WIS suggests to perform version coding for "electric blind for rear window" but checked out DAS menus and could not find version coding for "electric blind for rear window". Is there such thing on DAS as version coding for roller blind or not? If yes, could you please tell me where exactly is hidden as I checked it out for hours but could't find it? I cannot get my roller blind to work. thank you

Perdi,

The mods you have done are factory mods. They are mods that many C classes come with from factory. I doubt techs mess those up as well. You can't expect a MB tech to mess up every 203 PTS rear display or actuator motor or memory seat.

Of course you can't expect but unfortunately it happens.

Especially nowadays there is a trend for low-wages low-skilled employees and low quality service output.

What do you expect from employees that have no experience in hard core modding. thay have not even retrofitted a telephone kit in theit whole career.

As I said before, pick another MB workshop.

I've always found that if you install everything *exactly* as the factory would - cables in the correct places, exactly the correct parts used, etc - that the tech's dont get surprised.
I've also found that even when I didn't (i.e I added things that shouldn't be, such as TV and voice recognition in early W208, voice recognition in UK ML, corerning lamps, UK speedo mode turned off, clocks and date displays in clusters etc) that Greenoaks in Bracknell have never broken things

Cheers

Funny enough just came back from the dealership now and have seen two customers complaining to the service team leaders abound finding broken clips and plastics inside their cars!

I think someone is going to get fired there soon! :)

I think they would ber fired for incompetance.... Leaving the clips and plastic inside the car! Then I would sack whoever should have cleaned the interior, plus the supervisor who oversaw the repair.

Clips quite often get broke, it is a two minute job to replace them, I wonder if the bits left in the car were the broken items, or were you privy to all the conversations?

Seeing as the headliner has been dropped several times I would vote for a frayed copper wire in the lead that gives power to the parktronic display. One way to check, even though it is different wires, is to switch on the reading lamps and main light and see if they flicker when drive around.

I doubt the displays are faulty. Sounds like wiring.

I was also thinking of a shorted wire somewhere.

I do not think so, but will drive around with lights on to rule it out. The screens when are gone do not work anymore. If I use a brand new one it works fine. very strange...
still this mystery to be sorted.
