W203 320 CDI Command/sat-nav

I have a 2005 W203 320CDI Elegance SE. It has the Command sytem with sat-nav built in. I find the sat-nav incredibly cumbersome and frustrating to use. Each time I have to input country, town, street etc and I can only input the first three digits of a postcode. Is there any way to improve/upgrade the performance of the Command by updating the software, or am I stuck with it?

The sat-nav disc/dvd that came with the car is from 2007 - is it possible to obtain a more up-to-date version that will work with my car?
