Car passed the mot. An advisory was brake judder (Not bad at the moment) apparently likely due to warped discs. Naturally they are the larger drilled discs

My question is : Do the brake pads have to be changed when the discs are done. Are the discs likely to have worn the pads unevenly?

Car is 55 plate C class 2.1 litre diesel auto

Thanks

Always change the pads when you change the discs. The old pads will be worn to the surface of the old discs so will not bed in properly. If you change the discs yourself make sure you get the hub spotlessly clean before you put one the new ones. Any small amount of corrosion can cause the discs to be out of true causing brake judder again!

Yes of course CCP that makes perfect sense.
There was just a glimmer of hope in my mind that somehow the new discs might cut the pads flat again.:wallbash:
I suppose this would take an age though and as you say they wouldn't bed in, therefore wouldn't bite.....no brake

Cheers
