W203 C-Class Chrome Exhaust Trims?

Gericia.com seem to do a double chrome tail pipe (see below) which fits the downward pointing double exhaust on the W203 C class and gives the appearance of a sports exhaust. There is very little in the way of information or prices on their website but I think they are approx. £60?
Has anyone fitted one or have any photos they could post of one on their car?
Are they Chrome or Stainless Steel?
Are there any others similar or maybe better available?
Also does anyone know the reason why they fitted a downward pointing, diesel like exhaust on the 2001 Petrol C200K Avantgarde in the first place?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

The problem with these IMHO is that they look good from behind but from the sides there is nothing there which looks a bit odd. The not the back.other problem is some of them "vent" through the bottom

A waste of £60 IMHO. And that is speaking as a W203 owner.
I would rather buy headlamp trims or bulb upgrades.
I don't understand people who want to fit this kind of accessory to a Mercedes.
A Corsa yes. Or a Saxo. But please, not to a Mercedes.

I don't recommend it. I've seen many 203s around with such an add-on and they look really bad (and cheap :o ), IMHO.

If you really want to go that way then get it done properly with a freeflow cat back stainless steel system then you can choose your own tailpipe/s.

Thats really why I wanted to see a photo of one fitted if possible. Plenty of cars including W203 Mercs leave the factory with nice Chrome or Stainless tailpipes/trims without looking like a Corsa or Saxo if its tastefully done? (The W203 oval Sport complete rear box maybe but at what price?) Even some of the factory fit Merc ones appear to be little more than tacked onto the rear box as an afterthought. I just think 2 bent steel pipes pointing at the ground looks a bit like a Diesel taxi..................

............and that was one of the (minor) reasons why I bought a petrol W203.

Mine is a C200K petrol but even the Avantgarde seemed to come as standard with the diesel style tailpipes in 2001.

Apologies.............I didnt know that.........
If the backbox is interchangeable with a post 2004 W203, I would be inclined to take that option. Here is mine from the back.............

The stains showing on the rear bumper above the exhaust might be a clue as to why the diesels point towards the road.

Is your front offside tyre ok? seems rather flat..

Those marks have been polished out long ago. I dont know how they got there because they have never reappeared in over 6 months of regular use.
Either way, I still prefer the look of my exhaust than the twin pipes of the diesel (and earlier petrol W203's).

Thanks nice car, I think your right that option looks much better than my petrol W203 imitating a diesel!
This photo is from MVA on ebay and is Part Number: A2034920214 (MB price approx £92) I guess this is the trim designed to fit over the later std. steel Oval tailpipe?

Exhaust end piece
Will fit Mercedes-Benz C-Class W203 with four cylinder petrol engines
The unit is Genuine and Brand New. It has never been used.
Made in Germany.
A new unit will set you back around £92

I'm glad I came across this thread as I was considering a polished stainless steel trim for my C240 but was unsure if they looked a bit tacky. Now I'm convinced by others opinions that they do indeed look a bit tacky......:(

Just spent my money on genuine AMG pedals off ebay instead.....

I prefer the look of yours too, I was only pointing out that as the diesel may produce more black smoke and soot etc, the twin pipes face down to the road to avoid staining the bumper.

Newer Sport-coupe's (late '05 on) have a rearward facing tip but still exit fumes downwards.

Buy a tip from a dealer for the best look.
