W203 COMAND; No sound coming through speakers?

I've got an S203 with COMAND and I'm not getting any sound through the speakers, we know there is power to the amp.

To confuse matters slightly, when we removed the head unit, there was a sticker on top saying that the nav and cd changer don't work but the nav does work?

I originally thought I'd simply remove the head unit and Bose amp etc and fit a really good Alpine system but I've been told that to do so would be laborious; it would need all new speaker cable running from the new head unit to the speakers.
So I'm looking for advice and opinions as to where to go from here, thanks.

I am sure that I read something similar on here a while back but can't remember the outcome?

On my C240 I had a similar issue (non-command) that was caused by a phone mute cable shorting (blue wire IIRC). I was able to test that with another head unit.

Never played wih taking command unit out of mine.

Good luck.

I'd noted the phone cable thing when I've searched the forum, I'll get that looked at thanks Bruce.

AS bruce said. Chances are the car came with an "ok for 2001" Nokia system, that has since been removed. But it needs to be extracted, not cut out.
Look under the passenger footwell carpets for a speaker, and a by the trans' control unit for the Nokia box. Also the mic by the drivers "A" pillar. Trace all these wires and unplug, not cut, and hopefully you'll score....

This is starting to get on my **** now!

The above suggestions haven't worked so I'm back to the drawing board in the morning... Any help would be appreciated!

Do all 203's have a Bose amp? Just thinking whether I can find someone with a 203 head unit that I can try out.

I thought the Bose amp was an option but I may be wrong on the W203
