2004 Mercedes C180 Kompressor Coupe
I have 2004 C180 kompressor went to press the windscreen washer stalk to find out no water was spraying, no pump noise and the windscreen wipers aren't moving. So I've checked the pump even replaced it and still no movement. I'm now thinking it could be something to do with the indicator stalk as if i indicate right the stalk wont stay right. Although I indicate left it seems to work fine. Just wondered would these both be linked. I also heard and aknowledged that the washer pump doesnt have a fuse but wondered if theres any other diagnostics or troubleshooting i can do! First mercedes so I am keen to learn ;)
Can anybody help?

its the combi switch - its a common problem.

I get through my stock of them quite quickly

Be careful you have to remove the airbag and the sensitive angle sensor.
It may need the fault memory erased after if the srs light stays on - turn the steering lock to lock 3 times to cancel the esp/bas light

ok so new combi switch it is. how much are they going for? Is it worth buying brand new or get one from a breakers? cheers

Buy new, there such a common failure I wouldn't entertain second hand, circa £80 new
so if i disconnect the battery to take the steering wheel off along with the airbag will it wipe out my radio as i do not have the code at this moment in time and dont want to have to strip this out too. How easy is it to fit once the wheel is off?

No code on your radio, you won't need to disconnect the battery just don't cycle the ignition with the airbag disconnected.
