Oooh, away from home over the yuletide period and not back until the new year, and my COMAND doesn't seem to know where I am. . .
It knows where I am to within 30 miles or so (i.e, the city is vaguely right), but the precise directions. . . no chance.
Anybody got any ideas? Antennae coming loose? Is there some calibration ritual I need to do that I don't know about. The unit is newly repaired. Any ideas?

If its not showing any satellites it is most likely a faulty gps antenna but worth trying a reset by removing the fuse for Comand or unplugging the Comand unit.

ON my cl it had a calibration menu which I went into and it worked fine after that

Mine occasionally gets lost, usually when a journey starts on an 'unknown road', such as in a big field or car park away from real roads. The new tunnel on the A3 under Hindhead also caused Digital Doris to lose her way, though not as badly as a while back when she was convinced I was driving in the North Sea off the Yorkshire coast, when all my SpideySenses were telling me I was on the South Circular.

How many satellites does it see?

I've just been out to have a look. Bear in mind I haven't had Nav before so I am definitely a know-nothing. Assuming that when the map is on, "SAT 00" in the top right hand corner might mean "zero sat's?"
Even with an inefficient antennae, this doesn't seem likely does it?
Is there something that needs to be done to get it to handshake with the sats? I can't find anything in the manual suggesting that, but I guess usually a customer is buying a turn-key, already commissioned system. The manual seems light on trouble shooting info too. ..

Yes SAT00 indicates no satellites are being picked up.

Has it ever worked?

It's most likely that you have a faulty GPS antenna, try driving around a little and see if you the display changes to show anything other than 00

Nope, never worked from having it, but it was repaired and reinstalled the day before christmas eve. Occasionally it comes to within 10 miles or so of the present location, but then bombs out again, whilst valiantly still trying to direct me. Came as quite a shock when I used it for the first time and it really wasn't taking me where expected!
I shall pop the unit back and see if I can get a diagnosis...

[solved] W203. My COMAND Nav doesn't know where I am.

Finally back from Yuletide travels, and popped to COMAND-online for a wee bit of help.
Popped to the coffee shop for a bakewell tart and to read my book. An hour later, a tap on the shoulder and all sorted! Antenna issues sorted. First class and friendly service, preceded by some helpful email. These guys certainly know their stuff. Thanks so much guys!
