Does anyone have this option and what phone are you using with what cradle and do you have dash and steering wheel function.

My vehicle has Audio 10 CD and pre wire and a OLD Nokia cradle. I would like to change this for something a bit more modern.:D

What do you have

We upgraded to use the Nokia 6310i when we first bought the car about 4-5 years ago. Since then we bought a Viseoo Bluetooth adaptor.

That's probably about the only choice you have without spending silly amounts of money...

When I bought my car it had an old Nokia cradle for an ancient phone so I held out and bought a second hand cradle for my phone on ebay. My phone is a sony ericsson K800i (which I know is old now) and it has always worked fine in car with full steering wheel funtionality.

Hope this helps

If your car has a removable cradle it's highly unlikely to be a pre-facelift (unless someone retrofitted it!). It is most likely to be a facelift model (2004+) with the newer phone system.

The factory phone integration on the pre-facelift models (almost all Mercedes models before 2003/4) was with fixed cradles specific for one model of phone. In fact the control modules (PSE's) even needed to be upgraded when the Nokia 6310i came out as it wasn't compatible even though the phone would physically fit.

My car was released from the factory 18/03/2004 and came with the phone pre-wire, it has the interchangable cradle.
My car is not a face lift, it has the single dial cluster and Audio 10.
I really dont want to use an old phone in an old cradle.

Well if that's the case you have much more choice, as that sounds like the UHI system. However I'm still suprised as I didn't believe it was available on the pre-facelift.

Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes Phone/Bluetooth :: Cradles & Bluetooth Adapters

Or search ebay for Mercedes UHI cradle

I also have a 6310i, factory installed, connected by an audio 10 and, till now, only have problems with the phone itself due an accident (not a car crash).

I found a new phone (6310i) trough the MB Portugal. 720€ was the amount spent by the insurance.
Knowing that the system cannot be upgraded in order to accept a modern model, I wish good luke and long life to the unit otherwise, …

Wow that's expensive. There was a time when the Nokia 6310i was selling for silly money. I know of a number of people that were stopped in the street or in the airport and offered cash for their 6310i's.

The market has now moved on and there is an aftermarket Bluetooth solution available (Viseoo) which does integrate with the Mercedes factory kit.
