Advise needed on how to dismantle the rear seat back rest to fix the retractable head rest system. I've had the system checked by a Mercedes main dealer who say the problem lays with in the back rest.
A year ago I had my seats refitted in leather by that famous company in Colchester, having won the covers with free fitting on Ebay for £305.00,
( Normally the covers go for about £100 on Ebay) Having drove 275 miles I must have caught them on a bad day (Friday afternoon) or they must have put a trainee on the refit of my car, because three out of eight lower antracite trims were broken and the rear head rest do not retract via button. I wrote and phoned the company in Colchester several times, the situation was getting heated and I found them rude,so I sued them in county court last June and got £340.00 to fix my head rests & trims.
I do not want to pay my main dealer the money I received so I intend to fix them my self.
So far I have removed the rear seat back rest and taken the black boot material off, but I can not figure out how to remove the metal plate from the rear of the seat to check the vacuum parts, and yes the pipework is connected, fuses good and pneumatic module good.
