W203, wish Saab made the seats!!

I have a feeling that was a somewhat loaded question? :wallbash::D:D

Both my 124s had Saab 9000 seats as does the 107. Very comfy they are too.

I honestly did not know. I never saw your 124's and the 107 is just sublime anyway. I had a Saab 900 many moons ago but don't remember how comfy or not it was. I do remember it was heated cloth seats but that was all.

Saab 9000 seats in a 107. Suitably retrimmed of course.

Nah. Just having a whinge if you have a twinge.

I know I am very comfy in my 124. It seems Mercedes seats in newer cars are not the best though. Hmm, Who just went bankrupt again? No good having fantastic seat if you cannot sell enough cars to make ends meet.

Anyone ever put Saab seats in a Mercedes?

CHEERS

Now that is a thought!

I have my old 9-5 sitting outside my cottage and it has black leather heated and ventilated seats with memory. I imagine trying to splice all of that into the MB would be a lot of work but by no means impossible, you would have to swap the runners over and have some custom made wiring looms but anything is possible if you throw enough money at it. I think the cushion/ towel idea first then if no success change the car!

Not old enough to be moaning about uncomfy car seats....:p

Age has no relevance to back problems though sweetpea. I have had a back problem since I was 15 after a scrum collapsed.

3 bouts of surgery and several titanium plates, wires and screws later has left it less than tolerant of poor support though.

Interesting thread as I have had a W203 for over 3 years now and , without wishing to tempt fate in any way whatosever , have not had any real problems with the seats.
Like some others I have had back issues for years having played both squash and football and subsequently golf as well - not all at the same time btw!
Cracked vertebrae in lower spine plus numerous cases of muscle spasms have always made me careful with car seats, however did south of France and back in 2009 - round trip of over 2200 miles - and felt ok thoughout.

the seats in my w220 s600 have to be the most comfortableseats ever. massage function, massive padding everywhere and fully adjustable lumbar support on legs, sides lower back upper back everywhere really, can make the seat fit like a glove. I actually have a nice warm relaxed feeling in my back once ive driven it for the 50 minute communite everyday. Soon goes away after 30mins at home though.

Great pics, nice car and the seats look the business. And they certainly knew how to make proper sills in them days (do they illuminate ?)

But have to say I recovered my seats, (converted to leathers) in another thread somewhere, and I can certainly vouch for the amount of padding and sponge, as much as any car. A couple of points I did pick up on was the sheer weight of the 1/2 steel plate that makes up the back seat. If your looking to lose some weight on a car, here's a good place to start, and the other thing was the large waste of space 'inside' the front seats. They really are hollow and I considered all sorts of things from tobacco runs ;) to installing a couple of large lcd screens. (but they'd probably get kneed)

I know all about back pain pal,I used to suffer until I got off the tools.

The not being able to get comfy in bed is the worse part and there's not a great deal that can be done except for a massage....:( ;)

I find a good single malt applied internally and liberally is most efficacious in these circumstances!

I have to agree with those who say it must be a height thing (as you might guess by my name) i'm 6' 6' & over 18 stone and like others i've suffered with bad backs, slipped discs, dropped pelvis all football & work injuries! But my Chiropractor sold me a thing called a McKenzie roll(around 20 quid) which acts as a lumber support & i have to say its been a god send to me! I swap it into anything i drive now

Hi all, I was in a wheelchair for some time. I purchased from a help shop a lumbar support. These come with a broad elastic strap with velcro on the end. Just the job to fit on any chair/car seat.

Thank you Mark. Is this an admission perhaps that some MB seats are not up to the standard they should be?

That, or perhaps an admission that some people's backs are not up to the standard they should be? :D

Mine definitely isn't... :(

It looks to be quite bulky, I assume MB would have tested it but from the picture it would look to be pushing you forwards a little all depending, I suppose on how firmly inflated it was.
