W204 C63 question..

To be honest mate buying it me of these without a warranty I think is financial suicide. If I was buying one privately it would have to be VERY cheap.....

Back on topic the earliest Mercedes can look at it is the 7th of September sadly. Another thing I have noticed is that the jerkiness and hesitancy is more noticeable when the car has been running from a while and is upto temperature. From cold and slowly getting to temperature it’s a smoother drive....any other ideas?

Are there any specialists who can look at it instead?

7th September seems moons away and its not your fault.

RS...sorry to hear about your new car, really hope you get it sorted soon.

Both times I've bought my 63's I went to my local Indy & got them to check the whole car over, get it on the diagnostics & give me a list of things that in their opinion required remedying. Those that were covered under warranty were done, anything that wasn't I paid for.
If you're not entirely happy with the car you've nothing to lose by doing the same.

How exactly do you go about this? I'd most likely be buying approved used but do like the sound of this...just not sure how it would work in reality.

I booked them in with my local indy within the first couple of weeks of ownership for a once over & a diagnostic scan.
With my wagon there was an intermittent fault logged with the ABS module, they dealt with the warranty company & it was replaced with the warranty company picking up the bill.
On my coupe they diagnosed a failing drivers door lock, once again changed under warranty.
They picked up a couple of other things not covered by the warranty on the wagon & I paid for that work myself.

From a completely cold start these transmissions are known to be a bit jerky, noticeable more if shifting from reverse to 1st in tight parking spaces, etc.

Ahh ok that makes sense. I thought you meant you had it checked over before buying. Really good idea to do this straight after buying the car.

There's no such thing as a cheap c63 the prices have gone wild in the last 6 months alone i sold my saloon in jan (17k) bought the v8 M3 didn't like it so just bought a 2012 coupe ppp and was more than 20k private

I had Mercedes run a full check on it 1st better to pay for that than buy a mellon there's plenty out there i saw 7 before this 1

For starters 5 where meant to be ppp and wasn't including garage's all stated lsd only 1 had it a couple had budget tyre's on definite no no tbh a couple of them i wouldn't dare sell them

This sounds like an unusual experience to be honest, I hope you get it resolved. My buying experience was very different earlier this year, I always buy private so never any warranty but didn't encounter any issues, I swear the estate market is different in terms of who buys/sells, very genuine people. Having come from an e92 m3 (a definite.warranty car) I'm much more confident in the Merc but obviously.there can still be the odd issue. I've had a couple of pulleys needing attention but that's it, standard stuff. Best of luck.

There is definitely a different type of owner with different body styles, it's noticeable on the Facebook group where there's a high concentration of C63 owners.

In general, the coupes seem to have the highest turnover and attract the majority of the younger people looking for a car to rag/impress mates. The saloons and particularly the estates are usually only bought by slightly older (30+) people who use them as practical cars (it is still a C Class after all) as well as to have a bit of fun.

My own estate had one owner up to 40k miles and now me, currently on 73k miles. Many of those were pretty gentle usage, although I have still enjoyed the performance on most journeys.

I always buy private and had the salonon then sold it and went down the M3 v8 route in my opinion they are overated ive now bought this 2012 ppp ,1 previous owner ,50,000 mile absolutely love it just booked it in for an lsd MILL

100% this ^^ The AMG estates I’ve owned have always been a pleasure to buy and consequently sell.

Estate owners tend to be more “mature” petrol heads that need the versatility of an estate coupled with something that tries to kill you when the need arises.
