Got a lovely clk320 w208 that has a battery drain.
Tried new battery and when left for just over a week the car won't start or sometimes even unlock. Can anyone give me advice on the best way to diagnose? Have tried ammeter in series and pulled each fuse, but still could not pinpoint the drain. Any help appreciated.

The electric seats are the main culprit if you have that option

Disconnect and check draw

Because there is a constant live feed to retain the memory function. Mine did the battery drain thing last year but there's a fix where you wire out the perm live! You loose the memory but can still use the seat when the car is on!

Only need to disconnect if your battery is going flat in a short period of time. Current draw on mine dropped to next to nothing from 300mA.

So do you plug your seat back in every time you need to use it?

can I say in my humble opinion what a silly design by Mercedes , does this mean that anyone going o a 2 week holiday that leaves there car in a airport car park is going to find there battery flat when they return ? if that is the case then it is not a good design

Unplugging the seat is just a work around,
The fault will almost certainly lay in a faulty door control module, if unplugging the seat stops the drain.

No! Please use this information as you are meant to, for troubleshooting a clk with any battery drain issue! Message ends.

I had the problem on my C32. I did the fix by removing the live feed as per instructions from a fellow forumite. You don't lose the memory function doing this you just can adjust the seats without the key in the ignition.

I have a word file with instructions and pictures if anyone wants to PM me.

Does anyone got this from user [trainer]"I have a word file with instructions and pictures if anyone wants to PM me."

Care to share please, I think I may have this problem to :(

Hi did you manage to get this?
Thanks

Well I noticed that over the last few weeks,I suspect people have more time on their hands given the lockdown and not going to work.or even working from home and so they are dugging up these old threads.

Another 6 year old thread resurrection ! This is getting to be a bit of a habit on this forum :p
Cheers Pete, Old Mercs still going wrong I guess :D.
I've had a drain on my CLK 320 W208, given the current climate I drive it maybe once every 8 days. So just did some digging to find out how common it was to this car.
Sorry if I should have posted somewhere else, or looked for a new thread, blame google ;)
Cheers
