Anybody else driven nuts with the noise caused by the doors as they continually move and rub against the door seals? I have tried adjusting the door slam gadget and it is as tight as possible but doesn't make much difference. The amount of movement in these doors through scuttle shake is amazing! I have tried various lubricants on the rubber seal but with only very short term success - Anybody got any recommendations?

Have you had the car long mate?

If so has the noise always been there or has it just started?

My CLK cab is completely silent and the only noise i can hear is a slight rattle from the rear of the roof, (if u know the cause let me know!), so its not a problem you should be experiencing...

Perhaps the window has come out of alignment with the seals or roof?

doesnt happen on mine either. are the hinges tight etc and not worn?

I have had the car for about two years now. The noise is only irratating because the rest of the car is so quiet... A bit like the VW ad and the sqeaky earring.. I also tend to drive the car in the middle of the night when everything is freezing cold and it's quite noticeable then. I will have a look at the door hinges although I don't think there is any adjustment there. Most convertibles I have had in the past have doors that shimmy around and I usually put talcum powder on the seals to quieten things down but it's only short term.

Use Silcone Grease on the seals. Dealer should do it for you. Will kill the noise instantly.

Clrky.

Try putting the roof down once in a while! You probably won't notice the noises then! ;)

just a word of warning, if a number of suggested solutions don't work, as people run out of ideas they will eventually suggest that your chassis is misaligned and/or you have an abused car etc.

do not let this get you down, in my experience if you carry on searching for a solution you almost always find it

have faith and good luck
