Allow me to help: you can basically fit any backbox to any car.

That exhaust will probably fit a 129, after a few small mods.

I used to have a C43 backbox on my C230k and Graham has that exact item fitted to his C230k.

I had to get a sleeve made up to go between the box pipework and the car pipework but otherwise it fitted straight in, didn't sound bad either

I'm sure the SL500 produces a similar amount of exhaust gases as the C43 and CLK55 AMG, probably even has the same size pipework.

It will if you have a sleeve made up to go between your car's pipework and the backbox pipework.

Whoever installs it will have to cut off your existing backbox, weld the sleeve onto your car and then the AMG box will go on like a standard box.

It will make your car exhaust rumble at low speeds, higher speeds it is less noticable but at 130mph+ it can get a bit boomy, after a sustained run of 140mph+ the insides will glow orange

I should imagine it would, in much the same way as Shude describes. My old thread is here.

I think he recalls the noise a little different though.

With the V8 backbox on a 4 cylinder car, it is loud and boomy pretty much most of the time - too much really. I have no idea how your 6 cylinder 320 will combine with it - I would love to know though!

The fact that the shape and path of the V8 and the 4 cylinder models is the same for the exhaust in terms of pipe, silencer and hangers makes me think the 320 is the same too.

Yeah it's actually pretty silly, people used to look around expecting to see some baseball capped driver in a nova and all they saw was a green mercedes with two pretty tiny, chrome oval tailpipes

It might be a tiny bit quieter on the CLK320, but not much if it is.
