I've never met Alfie, but I am guessing we are not selling it to him now!

Not sure I understand this comment but if it makes the car sound like a nova with a cherry bomb pipe driven by a hoodie then I am definately not interested at all!

If however it improves performance albeit very slightly and is quiet enough to not be too noticeable, then I would be interested.

My car is covered by a Mercedes warranty so whatever I did I wouldnt want to jeopardise that.

I didn't think so, hence the comment! ;)

Doubt performance will change at all.

Are you saying it'll go onto a W202 C240?

I could be interested myself - what about the rear bumper, would I need a cut out? Or does it just hang below?

It can be fitted to a C240, you could cut a notch out of the lower bumper trim or you could leave it underneath, it's quite adjustable.

Thanks Graham,

I've put it on my watch list, and will bid nearer the end of the auction... Out of interest, how much did Top Gear in Aylesbury charge? And have you had to MOT the car since?

Cheers,

Laz.

Top Gear charged me about £20!

I have had a couple of MOTs since at the highly recommended Aylesbury MOT center and no problems.

I declare my interest in this item!
I will be bidding towards the end as well.

Would this (or a C36 back box) fit a really powerful heheh C180 with its single pipe?

Yes, you can basically fit any backbox to any car, especially those that share the same floorpan etc ;)

You might lose some power though due to a big difference in backpressure, unless a C180 puts out the same amount of exhaust gases as a C43/CLK55. Hmm :)

Yeah, but its asleep most of the time unless its in 'S' mode any slower wouldnt be good :(
