W208 CLK Sunroof Issue

Hi Guys

Since I purchased the CLK 320 '98 I have noticed there has been an issue with the Sunroof.

It tilts fine but it doesn't slide fully back - it stops half way. The sunroof cover also stops halfway so I think that is not allowing the actual sunroof to slide fully back.

I have read on the.internet about resetting the sunroof by allowing it to slide fully back until it stops then forcing it further back as much as possible but I don't want to damage the system.

Any ideas? Thanks

It could be something very simple. Our 124 did the same thing. Turned out it was a tiny rubber grommet that had perished and dropped in the runner.

These sunroofs are a big pain tbh. It looks like I will have to show the problem to someone.
