W208 convertable part number needed

Hi there iv a w208 convertable and need the part number for the soft top locking mechanisum ( the bit that the handle turns and operates the locking claws)as mine has become loose and just moves up and down in the hole, and if it was not for the trim would fall out. iv had a quick look (as i imagined there to be a bolt & washer on the top of it) but nothing apparrent. (as if it were a house door knob, a handle on the other side)
iv looked on the russian sites and and its not listed (could come with the front inner roof bow.)
Any help most welcome.

PM me your chassis and i'll take a look tommorrow on the genuine EPC if you have no luck with other members... (away from PC at the moment)

I bet it is too, normally is if i have anthing go wrong

your chassis number didnt work, but:

A2087700026 (version l)
or
A2087700426 (version r)

may be the thing you need.

bad news - if it is this part, its £640 + VAT

best to check with a MB parts dept. i suggest try to find a 2nd hand one or dismantle and fix what you have...
