W208 - Seat Controls - wooden trim removal?

Does anyone know how to remove the wood trim that surrounds the seat controls? The veneer has lifted slightly on my drivers side and I want to repair it.

if it's like the wooden strip along the door card, then it's held on by spring clips on the back of the trim - easy to prise off but, as said, you have to remove the door card.
If you try and lever the trim off without removing the door card, then it'll almost certainly break because it's so brittle and thin. Not that I've ever made that mistake....
