NOT mine, but somebody must want this. Could be a bargain.

I have seen this before on ebay, so check with seller why it is relisted etc.

does anyone know whether this will fit a W202 C240?

Easily, no.

Although depends how much you want it to fit. I know a place that will remount hangers and fit a new section of pipe right from the back of the back box or would just take the tips of it and put on your current box.

It looks big in the picture, but the is a lot of room under the w202. I wouldn't gamble it myself, but depends how cheap it stays I guess. Worth a bit of wedge just to get the tips.

thanks

it looks like it will fit .. merely from memory it looks roughly the same shape as W202 back box -- I saw Jimmy's at his place. will keep an eye on it. I may come back to you on the place to fit.

the 202 has the pegs at the top, that has them at the bottom (like 203)

you'll need a welder.... ;)

that's my flight of fancy ended ... and proof of my crap memory!

I don't think it's a good choice, the shape looks wrong as does the angle of the tips, but moving the pegs is no issue.

will wait for the right one .. too much messing about, and it all becomes a bit Vauxhall Nova boy racer thing

been sniffing at this one myself but can't trace his part number at the mo so whilst it looks the same fitment as my 209 (which is coded for a 203 so probably fit that model to) don't know if its suitable for my 320 engine or just a 55, any ideas?

It's a 209 part, so I would go for it.

MB couldn't tell me what my AMG CLK430 exhaust was from the AMG part number either!

Apparently the numbers have equivalents on their computers! LOL

If it is a 55 pipe, I guess it will be a bit noisier on a 320, but will fit I expect, although the pipe bore may be different. As long as you go to a specialist to fit, I would think you would have pleasing results.

aside from fitting issues are all backboxes similar i.e would fitting one from a larger engined car affect anything else e.g. engine performance/possible damage etc.
How did you get on with yours

thanks

I have no technical knowledge to advise you of any potential harm or running issues I'm afraid.

Mine runs fine, is just a bit loud. But that is the effect of fitting a box designed for a 4.3 litre V8 to a 2.3L 4 cylinder engine.

I expect fitting a pipe designed for a V8 to a 6 cylinder engine would be less dramatic.

Mine was the same, half the engine/output - double the noise ;)

Might actually lose a small amount of performance depending on the back pressure. I'm told kompressor owners don't need to worry about this as the engine breathes with some assistance ;)

Any ideas if this will go onto a W203 C320? I know the W209 and W203 are similar.

The part no's I have from the C Class accessories brochure for the AMG exhaust (back box) are:

C240 / C320 - B6 603 0813
C Diesels - B6 603 0820
C180K - B6 603 0819

I would have thought that the last four digits should have been the same for the W209 part (but maybe that's too logical). Any ideas???

Thanks

If you look in the 209 brochure you can see a different part no. for the V6 engines versus the V8 engines. I'd be wary as I can't see the part no. on that ebay ad.
