My big silver bus has decided it wants attention... on my birthday no less. All of a sudden I have a huge resonating vibration from the engien at idle. The problem seems to go away as the engine increases revs and there is no loss of power etc but as it slows to idle again it resonates through the whole car especially when stationary. Engine nearly shakes off mounts when it switches off.

I googled the issue and some guy had exactly the same issue and they traced it to an injector issue. I can believe this is the proble with my car as I had 2 go last year and the engine is turning 5 or 6 time before it fires for a few months now (making me think there is excessive leak off).

My Question is this though - I have no money for 6 weeks or so... could any of you clever people answer me this. Does an injector issue sound plausible and if so if I wait 6 weeks (providing the car still works) will it cause any additional damage?

+1 on mounts get your local garage to check them.. I have a similar problem with my e430 if I disconnect the MAF the shaking stops.

Sorry for coming back so late with the conclusion... Turned out I had ripped off the near side engine mount. If you held the car on the brake and revved the engine in drive the near side of the engine was lifting right up. I asked my local indi to replace the near side mount and everything is as A okay. Thanks for the pointers guys!

Cost for replacing engine mount.

..Hi how much did it cost you to get the engine mount replaced?

mine broke yesterday, i initially thought the torque converter had come of inside the box as the whole car started to vibrate, on key off it would shudder very badly.
:S
