Hi all.
Inside the ashtray on my car is a switch which according to the handbook is for auxiliary heater. In all the years of ownership (9) I have never found any lind of additional heater yet the switch lights up when toggled. Should there be an additional heater or does it route coolant round the EGR valve like on my Toyota HiAce?:dk:

The heater is on...when the red light is out. It only works below 7oC..and most don't work at all...mine doesn't.

It resides below the coolant tank on the offside of the engine bay.

I have same switch , on my avante garde e320 it doesn't seem to do anything when I turn it on or off? just lights up with a red light ?

It may also control electric heat booster, or if it is disel powered booster it may be just malfunctioning... Electric booster may be disconnected too, because its often broken. (Webasto heater will be revealed by small proturuding exhaust pipe through bottom shield of the the engine bay front driver side).

Edit: you have gasoline engine, not sure if they have electric booster as a standard...
